One thing I am not sure of, and sort of forgot to clarify with Jaeger-LeCoultre, was whether or not the entire watch case is cermet. I believe the black-colored pieces are, but as you can tell, the Deep Sea Chronograph case has a sort of sandwich construction with the dark gray/black sections between between lighter titanium colored sections. My understanding is that these sections are also potentially cermet as the material can be produced to look like metal - but these sections may also be "merely" titanium. In any event, on the wrist the Deep Sea Chronograph Cermet does feel light yet durable. Some will love the bi-color case style, and others will no doubt prefer a more solid color to the case. Jaeger-LeCoultre has a range of Deep Sea watches of both styles.

If you're considering a Grand Seiko, I recommend a trip to Scottsdale. The GS line is worth the trip, and it's good to see it in person. I am glad to finally find a group of people like myself to buy from, and now I just need to convince my wife that I should get a GS diver for Christmas!

This year, for 2013, the teams are racing 72-foot carbon fiber catamarans called "AC72"s, on hydrofoils, with rigid wings larger than those on a Boeing 747. The AC72 ships are utterly amazing, unlike anything you've seen sailing. The sails and the rigging are all rigid, and once up on the foils, they can get up to 50 MPH!

This is the first time Seiko has put Spring Drive into one of their Tuna series; it's a nice upgrade. Heckuva dive watch for half the price of a new Rolex, and you get one of the most famous dive watches around that looked too good to be true when the "Tuna" first came out in the 1970s.
